I finally made it back home about 11:30 last night...and for those of you who think it's SO funny, I did not book that flight! Anyway, I had a great time visiting with my sister, seeing her home, and meeting her friends and new family. I also unexpectedly got to see several old friends; that was really a highlight of the trip for me. For those who have already asked, the wedding pictures are coming...I'll post a few of my favorites in a day or two, then probably a slideshow in a week or so, so hang tight!
If you've ever been to Oklahoma, you know it's a very interesting place...their history is pretty amazing. I probably know more of their history than the history of the state of Tennessee because of the time I spent in school there. I hadn't been back to OKC for 15 years, so I really enjoyed driving around trying to find some of the places where we lived when we were kids and seeing how things have changed (or not).
No one has to be told how different Oklahoma is from East Tennessee. I was quite amused by some of the differences and so I got some shots to share with you. Some things you would never see in our neck of the woods...
Everything is SO flat, flat, flat...

These awesome working oil wells are everywhere,
even right next to the runways at the aiport...

OU yard art...

My long lost friend Trina...I'm so glad we were able to
get together and looking forward to keeping in touch!
Trina, now you can replace that old photo with this one...
we're older, but we definitely look better! :o)

More OU art...on the airport equipment no less!

OU curb art...

Yukon, the home of Garth Brooks...I only throw this in
because he's a fourth or fifth cousin or something like that!

This was really amusing to me...you don't see THAT
just anywhere!

And here is a shot of everyone on our side of the family
who made it for the wedding weekend...I know the quality
is terrible, but it's the people in the picture that matter!!!

I enjoyed every minute with all of you...thanks to
Alarra and Mike for getting us together! Can't wait
to talk to you when you get back from Mexico!!!
