date night...

Thanks to a dear friend, Ringo and I had the rare opportunity to go out by ourselves tonight. We seriously haven't had so much fun since...um, well, a long time. We take the kids to Dollywood on a regular basis, but we've never gotten to go alone and ride the stuff we want to ride. So we got there one hour before closing, when all the crowds are leaving, to avoid long lines. We got to ride their two biggest coasters twice, which trust me, is a major feat. We rode the Thunderhead wooden coaster, my all-time favorite, twice...no lines at all. Then we went to the just-opened Mystery Mine and rode it twice...all I can say is "Wow!" You can check it out on Dollywood's website, but it really doesn't do it justice. Even standing there looking at the coaster doesn't do it justice because the amazing part of it is inside the "mine." The biggest drop is 85 feet at a 95 degree angle...that's MORE than straight down. Of course, we're so old that we'll be sore for a couple of days. :o)

After Dollywood closed, we went Atlanta Bread Company (exactly like Panera Bread). As we were ordering, we realized there was a man with a guitar in the corner providing live entertainment. My first thought was, "Oh, brother." He plays many kinds of music, but it was mostly oldies and it turned out to be great and we hated to leave. It was a wonderful night...thank the Lord for providing such a nice evening. We plan to do it again (hint, hint to dear friend)! Haha!

soccer update...

I've been so busy working on pictures for other people that I haven't kept up on my own kids' stuff. I was trying to post Braden's soccer games on a regular basis, but I'm lagging behind a couple of games. Braden's team won 8-2 a couple of weeks ago, and he scored three or four goals that week. I wasn't at that game, so I can't remember the details. At the last game, we won 7-6 with Braden scoring five goals. I finally got a picture of Braden scoring!!! I've tried to do that at every game, but it all happens so fast I always miss it. I am also including pictures of the other two little rascals playing at the soccer field...

Thanks for tuning in!! ;o)

it works...

We finally figured it out, so here is the engagement slideshow for Jaclyn and Matt...

jaclyn & matt...

I had the privilege of shooting a beautiful wedding this past Saturday. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to be a part of it. Everything about it was just awesome. A big thank you to the Clouds and the Howells...you've made me feel like part of your family...what a great experience!

For several days we've been trying to get Jaclyn and Matt's engagement slideshow on here, but it just won't post for some reason. If we can get it to work, we'll put it on. For now, here are a few shots from their engagement session...

I'm really excited about the wedding pictures...I hope to be able to post a few of those by the end of the week so check back soon. I hope you all have a wonderful week!

I Survived the Bible Conference of 2007

Okay, so Angela previously entered this post and I was fooling around with the settings and deleted the text on her post. We had a busy week during the Bible Conference, but as always it was a blessing. Now maybe things will get back to normal. Here are the kids and some of their friends at the bounce house. At my age, you can throw something out of joint going on that big slide.

Thanks for checking in.

easter sunday...

I hope all of you had a beautiful easter Sunday like we did. We had two wonderful services at church...I wish everyone I know and love could have been here. This morning, Pastor preached about the power of the Resurrection; and tonight, his message was about our Baptist heritage and why we believe what we believe. You really should get a copy of the CD...anyway...

Easter is one of those holidays when I really miss my family back home, I guess because I have lots of memories of getting together with family on Easter Sunday. It was colder today than it was Christmas day, so I didn't even bother getting the Easter baskets out. I almost saved the Easter clothes until next Sunday, but it's a tradition I just couldn't break. It was almost humorous at church, with everyone in their Easter finery covered by heavy winter coats. Hey, it was 75-80 degrees the entire month of March, so we can't complain...actually we CAN and we HAVE! =o)

Here are a few pictures of the kids...I know I'm kinda biased, but aren't they the most beautiful things God ever created? For a larger view, just click on the pictures...

Pray for us this week...Bible conference week...enough said, right? We'll be dead tired at the end of the week, but as Sam Davison says, "It's a good tard." Hope you all have a great week!

bounce house...

While Braden was on spring break, we had the opportunity to visit
the Bounce House which just opened. We met up with some of our
friends, and it was great fun...even for the moms! Here's a group picture
of all the kids...more to come, I won't say soon, but at some time in the
near future (I hope)!

to dollywood we go...

We definitely enjoyed our spring break week, and sadly it is now over. We were able to do some fun stuff including going to Dollywood. We plan to put together a slideshow from the week, but that could take several days. :)

I hope to have a quiet week this week leading up to the busiest week of the year at church. Please help me pray for our pastor and all the staff who are getting ready for the Bible conference starting on Sunday. We look forward to seeing many of you who will be in town for that!

Here is a rare picture of the entire family...one of the Dollywood workers offered to take our picture so we would have one of all of us together...enjoy!

I hope you all have a wonderful week. I look forward to hearing from you!
